Afghanistan's female football exiles: 'We're waiting for Fifa to give us a second chance'
In 2021, Afghanistan's women's national players fled Kabul to Australia, following the return to power of the Taliban.
The Afghan women’s team is now playing in the seventh tier of Australian football, in Victoria State three West. They’re known as Melbourne Victory AWT but their international status is still up in the air.
Sport Today's Mani Djazmi caught up up with goalkeeper Fati, who's now living and studying in Melbourne, during the Women's World Cup to find out what life's like in Australia, and her hopes for the future.
