'We owe Bert and his family so much for the work they did' Birmingham's first black councillor
His name was Alderman Egbert 'Bert' Sylvester Carless.
He has a road named after him in Perry Barr, but campaigner Desmond Jadoo - who was mentored by Bert says he deserves more.
He wants a portrait in the council house and a committee room named after him.
