Ukrainian children reunited with their parents

Thirty-one Ukrainian children brought home after being taken to Russia

Today’s Mishal Husain spoke to the founder of the humanitarian organisation ‘Save Ukraine’, Mykola Kuleba, who is also the Ukraine’s former children’s ombudsman.

Kuleba explained how the charity ‘Save Ukraine’ returned Ukrainian children home after they had been taken from Russian occupied areas.

Children were visiting what they had been told was a two week summer camp, and have only now been reunited with their parents six months later.

Some children, as young as eleven, spoke of being made to sing the Russian national anthem-- or write notes explaining why they hadn't. Thousands of Ukrainian families still have children in Russia.
