Jax Jones, Raye & Martin Solveig (February 2020) 鈥� the first appearance by these artists as guests on Steve Wright In The Afternoon, and it鈥檚 around the release of their single Tequila.
There鈥檚 a lot of explaining in terms of Jax and Martin having a side project called Europa, how they all linked up, the number of mixes it takes to perfect a track and the pace of the music industry in the 21st Century.
Rihanna (August 2007) 鈥� a return visit for RiRi who has recently released her 3rd album Good Girl Gone Bad, and had spent 10 weeks at number one earlier in the year with the single Umbrella.
Steve underlines to Rihanna how keen he is that the Rehab gets released as a future single (which it is in the following year).
Amy Winehouse (October 2006) 鈥� it鈥檚 a couple of weeks before the release of Amy鈥檚 2nd album Back To Black, and despite Steve and Tim liking what they鈥檝e heard of it, there鈥檚 no inkling of the incredible success and accolades which await it.
Away from the music chat, there鈥檚 insights into touring, a lot of laughs and some delicious food on the menu.
Bruno Mars (December 2012) 鈥� Bruno鈥檚 first visit to Steve Wright In The Afternoon. His 2nd album Unorthodox Jukebox is out later that month, and will go to number one just before Christmas.
As well as finding out about Bruno, there鈥檚 a bit of an unlikely singalong as well!
Jax Jones (March 2023) 鈥� a newly recorded interview with Jax, who鈥檚 just taken a month off following the birth of his second child (you鈥檒l hear her from time to time).
It鈥檚 almost a decade between his current hit Whistle, which features singer Calum Scott, and I Got U 鈥� Jax鈥檚 collaboration with Duke Damont, which went to number one in 2014, and a lot has gone on inbetween.
Topics include how Jax works and his desire for his music to reflect his upbringing, and a few of the recent highlights of his career including DJing at major sporting events and being invited to play on Love Island.
Thom Yorke and Ed O鈥橞rien (April 2008) 鈥� recorded as part of Radiohead Day when the band were appearing at different times on Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 6 Music.
