Our hair...our history
Sile's been to check out Hair: Untold Stories, at Weston Park Museum in Sheffield.
Amongst the exhibits, it features the work of Sheffield artist Kedisha Coakley who spoke to Sile about issues around presentation and 'acceptability' of black women's hair and why she chose to stop relaxing her own hair.
Sile also speaks to curator Lucy Cooper about the value of hair as a material and the diversity of how it can be used - from flood management to bags, shoes and a fancy gown!
