The NHS is under great pressure, with record waiting times, ambulances queuing outside crowded hospitals and more nurse and paramedic strikes to come.
Today's Martha Kearney went with Amanda Pritchard, chief executive of NHS England, to an NHS hospital in Warwick to see efforts to stop patients being in hospital unnecessarily.
