Mary McCartney reflects on Abbey Road Studios ahead of new documentary
Abbey Road Studios are the best known and most loved recording studios on the planet.
The unassuming Edwardian villa in London has hosted many of the world's greatest musicians: Elgar, Jacqueline Du Pre, Kate Bush, and launched the career of Elton John. But it was the Beatles who made the studios and the adjacent zebra crossing so famous.
After the Beatles broke up, Paul and Linda McCartney and their band Wings recorded their albums at Abbey Road, often with their children tagging along.
Now Mary McCartney - a photographer like her late mother - has made a documentary, charting Abbey Road, which has survived and thrived against the odds. "If These Walls Could Sing" launches on Disney Plus in the UK on January 6th.
