Czech FM: Russia waging a hybrid war against Europe
The Czech Republic鈥檚 foreign minister has told the 91热爆 that Russia is waging a hybrid war against Europe.
Mr Jan Lipavsky told the Hardtalk programme鈥檚 Stephen Sackur there were many parts to this, including Moscow's support for political extremism, the energy crisis and using disinformation.
Russia has been accused of fuelling inflation by restricting gas supplies to Europe, prompting high costs for energy and causing inflation to skyrocket. The Kremlin has repeatedly denied that it has used energy supplies as a weapon against Western countries since the invasion of Ukraine.
The Czech Republic currently holds the presidency of the European Union, which gives it the ability to marshal resources and shape the bloc鈥檚 agenda. But Mr Lipavsky said the EU can help but ultimately 鈥渋t鈥檚 the responsibility of national states to protect its territorial sovereignty and integrity of their societies.鈥�
