Transgender swimmers barred from women's elite races
Transgender swimmers barred from elite women's races by governing body FINA
The international swimming federation, FINA, have voted to stop transgender athletes from competing in women's races if they have gone through any part of male puberty. The new policy means that transgender women who want to compete as women will now be required to have completed transition by the age of 12, making the vast majority of them ineligible to compete in female categories.
Former British swimmer Sharon Davis says she's proud of FINA, while some trans groups and trans athletes criticise the decision.
We spoke to the American trans athlete Fallon Fox who is a mixed martial arts fighter, and Karen Pickering, former swimming world champion.
