Bristol University has been ordered to pay 拢50,000 in damages to the parents of a student who took her own life, after a senior judge ruled it had discriminated against her by failing to provide adequate support. Natasha Abrahart was 20 and a physics undergraduate who suffered from chronic social anxiety. She died a day before she was due to give an oral exam in front of teachers and fellow students in a lecture theatre.

The university says that a range of options were offered to Natasha including not having to present on stage in front of her peers, or answer subsequent questions. It says it may appeal the judgement.
