INT. SHABBY HOUSE. THE HOUSE IS DETACHED AND RURAL, WITH NO HUMAN LIFE WITHIN HEARING DISTANCE.

听

We start the episode with one long, ominous note playing repeatedly.

听

FX: A rush of footsteps on wooden floorboards. CLEO, SHAWNA and ABBY are blindfolded and their hands are bound.

听

听

ROBERTS

Keep moving!

听

CLEO

Well maybe if I could see!

听

SHAWNA

You better believe Amnesty are

gonna hear about this!

听

ABBY

This 颈蝉苍鈥檛 funny! 滨鈥檓 my mother鈥檚

carer! She needs me!

听

ROBERTS

Move!

听

CLEO

Yeah, we get it, you鈥檙e really

tough, shoving young women about.听

听

FX: A door creaks open. CLEO, SHAWNA and ABBY are led downstairs into an empty basement.

听

The door bangs shut. CLEO immediately bangs loudly on the door as it shout.

CLEO

Let us out of here!

INT. BASEMENT. THE WALLS AND FLOOR ARE CONCRETE AND IT IS EMPTY, BESIDES CLEO, SHAWNA AND ABBY.

SHAWNA

Oh, this is bad. No this is

properly bad. If they鈥檙e gonna

kill us, I wish they鈥檇 hurry

up and get on with it. How

long鈥檚 it been?

听

ABBY

Feels like hours.

听

FX: Clumsy door rattling as ABBY tries to open it with bound hands.

听

ABBY

Still locked.

听

CLEO

Well, it鈥檚 always worth a try

听

FX: ABBY hurls herself at the door.

听

CLEO

Abs! What are you doing?

听听

ABBY

What else are we supposed to do?

Just sit here?

SHAWNA

You鈥檒l hurt yourself.

听

CLEO

You鈥檙e not built for knocking down

doors. I don鈥檛 know about you, but

滨鈥檓 getting out of these cable ties

now.听

FX: Sounds of shuffling, huffs of effort and shoes tapping against the concrete floor as CLEO gets her hands in front of her

CLEO

Oh my god, this is worse than yoga

听

SHAWNA

No, you look really...graceful.

听

CLEO

You little liar.

听

ABBY

(sarcastically)

No, really. You look like a gazelle.

Being born.

听

FX: CLEO stands up with a TRIUMPHANT HUFF.

听

CLEO

Cirque du soleil can bite me.

听

She raises her arms over head, slams them down onto her knee and the cable tie snaps.

CLEO

ABBY

That was seriously amazing, where

CLEO

TikTok. (laughs)

SHAWNA

That鈥檚 so cool, all it ever shows me

fruit loaf recipes.

听

ABBY

Hmm, I wonder why.

听

SHAWNA

Cleo, can you show me how to do that?

听

FX: SHAWNA starts hopping about, trying to bring one leg through her bound arms.

听

CLEO

I might not need to. Hang on.

(pause)

They should have taken my earrings

when they took our phones. Here, give

me your hands, come.

听

FX: SHAWNA turns to show her hands to CLEO, who bends down and starts scratching at the plastic with her earring.

听

(PAUSE)

SHAWNA

What if, we like...crossed

a line or something? Found out too

much? Everyone 鈥� stop breathing!

They might be pumping nerve agents

through the vents -

听

CLEO

Girl, you need to go on a YouTube diet,

stop it.

听

FX: The cable tie starts to slowly break.

听听

ABBY

Shawna, they鈥檙e obviously aliens.

听

CLEO

Wait, what?!

听

ABBY

I mean, think about it-

CLEO

Do you two hear yourselves sometimes?

(to Shawna)

I think that鈥檚 weakened it 鈥� see if you

can pull your hands apart now.

听

FX: sound of a snapping plastic as SHAWNA breaks her cable tie.

听

SHAWNA

Yes!

听

CLEO

Yes! Oh thank god. OK, Abs,

quick, your turn now.

听

FX: cable tie loosening

听

CLEO

Keep your hands still, babe.

听

ABBY

Right, sorry, sorry. If aliens were

here, and if they were trying to

remain undetected, and if we have managed

to detect them, then they鈥檇 probably

have to do something, like, wipe our

brains, or, or鈥�

听

SHAWNA

Or make us disappear. Abby, you鈥檙e

loving this aren鈥檛 you?

听

CLEO breathes heavily as she keeps trying to break the cable tie.

听

ABBY

No! What about my mum? And Craig must

be going out of his mind; if I don鈥檛

reply to his texts in like a minute

he freaks out.

听

CLEO

Girl, that ain鈥檛 healthy.

Give that a go.

FX: Snap of plastic as ABBY breaks apart her own cable ties.

ABBY

We did it! Group hug?

听

CLEO

I think we鈥檝e earned one.

听

FX: sound of manoeuvring into a warm hug.

听

CLEO

Right, now where are we?

听

SHAWNA

out of.

FX: sounds of struggling about as SHAWNA kneels down, CLEO climbs onto her back and SHAWNA stands up.

Oh wow, Shawna, you weren鈥檛 lying about

ABBY

CLEO

Not much. There鈥檚 a lot of field.

Empty field. There鈥檚 some trees.

ABBY

What kind?

CLEO

(unsure) Errr...the big kind?

CLEO

Right. There鈥檚 not a lot else.

else. I don鈥檛 see any other buildings,

or a road or anything.

SHAWNA

(struggling to hold Cleo)

Can you open it?

CLEO

Hm I don鈥檛 think so. Looks like

it was painted shut a few years ago.

There鈥檚 bars on the outside anyway.

So yeah sorry, let me down.

FX: SHAWNA breathes out exasperated and lowers herself as CLEO steps down awkwardly.

听

ABBY

CLEO

听

SHAWNA

CLEO jumps down with a thud.

(Sighs) Yeah. Well, at least I get

CLEO

let anything bad happen to you,

ABBY

Right. Besides, whoever it is that鈥檚

taken us, they wouldn鈥檛 have done it

if we weren鈥檛 onto something!

CLEO

What are you on about now?

SHAWNA

No that鈥檚 true, it鈥檚 the blue box!

Whoever these people are, they鈥檙e

clearly mixed up in it. I told you

blue box was government agent-

ABBY

It could still be aliens!

SHAWNA

What? Aliens with two hands and

feet who wear cheap aftershave

is it?

CLEO

ABBY

Other planets could have aftershave!

CLEO

Girls! Not now, oh my god!

(beat)

Anyway, you kidnap people, you could at

least give them a cuppa. 滨鈥檓 gasping for

one.

SHAWNA

I鈥檇 go for something stronger.

听

CLEO

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 (chuckles) Yeah.

听

Then suddenly they all jump in surprise as the door bursts open.

听

ROBERTS

(menacingly) Get up.

听

CLEO

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Oh my god.

听

ROBERTS walks over to SHAWNA and starts to drag her out of the room.

听

SHAWNA

Hey, what are you doing? Get off me!

听

CLEO

Oi! Shawna!

听

ABBY

Where are you taking her?

听

FX: ROBERTS drags SHAWNA across the room and pushes her up the stairs. CLEO and ABBY run after her, trying to pull her back.

SHAWNA

No! Let me go!

听

CLEO

Leave her alone!

听

ABBY

Shawna!

听

FX: ROBERTS and SHAWNA exit and the door slams and locks behind them.

听

We hear SHAWNA鈥檚 muffled shouting from behind the door.

听

SHAWNA

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Let me go! Abby! Cleo!

听

Back in the basement, we can still hear Shawna shouting in the distance

ABBY

What do you think they鈥檙e gonna do

to her?

听

CLEO

I don鈥檛 know, but 滨鈥檓 not waiting

to find out, come on.

听

FX: CLEO RATTLES THE DOOR

听

ABBY

Maybe there鈥檚 another exit -

听

CLEO

Shh - do you hear that?

听

FX: conversation echoing from another room.

听

ABBY

What is it?

听

CLEO

It鈥檚 Shawna! I can hear her voice.

I think it鈥檚 coming through the

ceiling - listen.

听

SCENE 3

听

INT. SPARSELY FURNISHED ROOM, SET UP AS AN INTERROGATION ROOM. MILLER IS QUESTIONING SHAWNA.

听

FX: Dialogue starts muffled and becomes clearer over SHAWNA鈥檚 first line, as we move through the ceiling into the interview room. During the scene, there鈥檚 the occasional sound of shoes on floorboards as MILLER circles around the room.

听

MILLER

Do you know why you鈥檙e here?

听

SHAWNA

Because I鈥檝e been kidnapped?

听

MILLER

(sharply)滨鈥檓 not interested in your

jokes, Miss Thompson.

听

SHAWNA

Sorry. Being hilarious just comes

so naturally to me.

听

MILLER

You and your friends have vivid imaginations.

听

SHAWNA

You鈥檝e taken us hostage! We haven鈥檛

imagined that have we?

听

FX: (MILLER stops walking and taps his foot lightly a few times)

听

MILLER

Your podcast 鈥� the Blue Box Files.

Why do you make it?

听

SHAWNA

Because we think people deserve to

know the truth.

听

MILLER

And why, exactly, are you claiming

that people are disappearing?

听

SHAWNA

Because they are! Have you seen the

news recently? There鈥檚 a missing

person epidemic.

听

MILLER

I have, in fact, seen the news recently.

I don鈥檛 know what darknet conspiracy

blog you get your so-called 鈥榥ews鈥�

from Ms Thompson.

听

MILLER slams down a stack of newspapers. Dumbstruck, SHAWNA files through them.

听

SHAWNA

But that鈥檚 not 鈥� that鈥檚 not possible,

it was headline news鈥� It was 鈥� I saw

it on all over the front pages, like

yesterday.

(MORE)

听

SHAWNA shoves the papers away from her

Ominous music starts in the background as SHAWNA refuses to believe what she鈥檚 seeing.

听

SHAWNA (CONT鈥橠)

Nah. This is fake news. Literally. It鈥檚

got to be. I know what the truth is

and you鈥檙e not going to gaslight me

into thinking differently.

听

MILLER

(laughs darkly) Ok. What exactly do

you think the truth is, Miss Thompson?

听

SHAWNA

That there鈥檚 always someone like you

in the background. Who doesn鈥檛 care

what happens to anyone else.

听

FX: MILLER taps his foot again.

听

SHAWNA (CONT.)

You think you get to control everybody.

Well guess what, you鈥檙e not going to

control me..

听

MILLER

You think you understand all about how

the world works, don鈥檛 you? Your version 鈥�

that鈥檚 the right one. And you鈥檙e not interested whatsoever in the

work of this department or the good

we might do, because I am so blatantly

evil, right? Because what 鈥� because 滨鈥檓 wearing a uniform?

SHAWNA

Yeah, that鈥檚 about right. You鈥檙e

obviously working for some shadowy government agency.

(falters)

You鈥檙e probably behind all the disappearances.

听

FX: MILLER鈥檚 shoes click against the floor as he slowly circles SHAWNA. He taps his foot again.

听

MILLER

滨鈥檓 not the one you should be

frightened of, Shawna. 滨鈥檓 not the

one controlling this blue box of

yours, but someone is, and they are

much, much worse than you understand.

You see, I, and the people I work

with, we鈥檙e here to protect good

people. Good people like your

grandmother, for instance.

听

FX: SHAWNA stands up.

听

SHAWNA

Leave her alone!

听

Ominous music continues in the background, long, low notes.

听

MILLER

If all goes according to plan, then

there鈥檚 no reason that your grandmother

ever needs to hear about this鈥�little incident, or from us at all. But if not 鈥�

if you don鈥檛 co-operate, (pause)

well then I suppose plans change.

Don鈥檛 they?

听

FX: MILLER stops and taps his foot again

听

SHAWNA

Why do you keep doing that?

听

MILLER

What?

听

SHAWNA

When you tap your foot, you keep

looking at that mirror.

听

(PAUSE)

听

Ominous music stops.

听

SHAWNA (CONT鈥橠)

Ah, someone鈥檚 watching us, aren鈥檛 they?

Are they telling you what to say?

You鈥檙e not in charge here, are you?

听

MILLER

I have the authority to make your

life very difficult, Miss Thompson.

And your grandmother鈥檚.

听

SHAWNA

Who鈥檚 watching us then?

(shouting to the room) 听

Come here and tell us what you want!

You cowards!

听

MILLER

Tell me how you and your friends are involved with the blue box and you鈥檒l

find me much more amenable.

(pause)

Tell me what you know about the Doctor.

听

SHAWNA

Doctor who?

听

SCENE 4

听

INT. BASEMENT.

听

FX: The door opens and ROBERTS shoves SHAWNA inside.

She runs down the stairs and into ABBY鈥檚 arms, breathing shakily. CLEO rushes to join them.

听

ABBY

Shawna! Oh thank god

听

CLEO

You鈥檙e alright, babe. We鈥檝e got you now.

听

FX: ROBERTS crosses the room and pulls ABBY apart from SHAWNA. He drags ABBY across the basement and up the stairs.

听

ROBERTS

Your turn!

听

ABBY

Let go of me!

CLEO

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 What? Oh my god!

听听

SHAWNA

Abby! Abby you鈥檒l be all right,

just don鈥檛 trust them! They鈥檙e

liars! Don鈥檛 listen to them!

听

ABBY

Where are you taking me?

听

ROBERTS

Move!

听

CLEO

Abby! It鈥檚 going to be OK babe!

听

FX: The door slams shut and locks.

听

听

SCENE 5

听

(SHAWNA sobs)

听

FX: CLEO walks to SHAWNA and puts an arm around her, rubbing her shoulder comfortingly.

听听听

CLEO

Oh, come here babe.

听

(Pause while SHAWNA catches her breath and CLEO comforts her)

听

听CLEO (CONT鈥橠)

We鈥檙e all getting out of this

together Shawna. I promise.

听

SHAWNA

How are you so calm?

听

CLEO

What?

听听听听听听听听听听听

SHAWNA

Like it鈥檚 just another Tuesday.

Went to Glasgow, got kidnapped.

听

CLEO

Oh babe, 滨鈥檓 wetting myself too.

听

SHAWNA

Well you could have fooled me.

听

CLEO

It鈥檚 just鈥�I don鈥檛 know, you know

When you鈥檝e got lots on your mind

and your brain鈥檚 almost like buffering,

and you don鈥檛 actually have the space to have a real breakdown.

SHAWNA

Yeah, yeah.

CLEO

(Beat) Honestly the worst part though,

is for a second I thought I might get

to see my dad again. Like, maybe this is what happened to him, too. And if it was,

And then I thought of my mum. Jordan

going missing, then me鈥� And maybe she

didn鈥檛 lie to us about Dad, and maybe

he didn鈥檛 go off to Marbella with some

bird. And maybe this whole time I鈥檝e

been angry at her about something

she didn鈥檛 even do.

听

Thoughtful music appears in the background, slow synth music.

听

But then I remembered she doesn鈥檛 care.

She wouldn鈥檛 care if I was gone. Her

life would be a hell of a lot easier

if

(MORE)

听

CLEO (CONT鈥橠)

I was gone. So maybe I should go.

I can be with Dad and this would all

be over. Maybe me disappearing would

be better for everyone.

听

SHAWNA

Cleo it wouldn鈥檛 be better. Not for

Jordan. Not for me or for Abby. Never

ever think that.听

听

CLEO

滨鈥檓 sorry. 滨鈥檓 sorry. It鈥檚 just, this

is all so much, and now Jordan鈥檚 gone

and -

听

SHAWNA

We鈥檙e going to find him. Babe,

I promise.

听

SHAWNA pulls in CLEO for a big hug.

听

(pause)

SHAWNA

(sighs) Do you think she鈥檚 OK up there?

听

FX: faint sounds of conversation from the room upstairs.

听

CLEO

Babe. She鈥檚 probably up there interrogating

him.

听

SHAWNA

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 (Faint laugh) Yeah, fair.

听听

SCENE 6

听

INT. INTERROGATION ROOM.

听

FX: As in Sc3, dialogue starts muffled and becomes clearer over as we move from the cellar to the interview room. MILLER鈥檚 shoes click on the floorboards as he slowly paces.

听

ABBY

Who are you?

听

(pause)

听

MILLER

My name is Miller.

听

ABBY

What are you doing here?

听

MILLER

滨鈥檓 keeping people safe, Miss

MacPhail. Whether 滨鈥檓 protecting

you, or protecting people from you,

I鈥檝e yet to determine.

听

ABBY

But what are you doing here? Like,(whispering) on Earth.

听

FX: MILLER鈥檚 footsteps stop as he pauses. He taps his foot.

听听

MILLER

Where else ought I to be, exactly?

听

ABBY

(lightly laughing)

OK, well, -I mean, you look pretty

human - but you work for them, don鈥檛

you? The beings that are behind all these abductions?

听

FX: MILLER鈥檚 hand slams down on a table surface. ABBY gasps.

听

MILLER

(shouting)Am I supposed to believe

that you and your friends are just

playing at Men In Black?

听

He pauses.

听

MILLER (CONT.)

(laughs) OK. I鈥檇 like to play you

something.

听

FX: MILLER places a phone down on the table and sets it to play a recorded excerpt of The Blue Box Files.

听

CLEO

Girl, how do you not know your star

sign? 滨鈥檓 a Scorpio sun, Aries moon

and Leo rising.

听

听

ABBY

That explains a lot!

听

CLEO

Excuse me, what鈥檚 that supposed to mean?

听

SHAWNA

Am I the only one who doesn鈥檛 think

my personality is dictated by shapes

in the sky?

听

It is dictated by the state-sanctioned brainwashing that is the education

system -

听

ABBY

Ah, but we鈥檙e not just talking about

听

The redacted sound begins

听

ABBY (CONT鈥橠)

the regular constellations we鈥檙e all familiar with. These ones were different. All across the world, people say they saw-

听

FX: the episode abruptly cuts into the redacted sound. The recording bleeps as it stops playing.

听

MILLER

What made that sound?

听

ABBY

That鈥檚 not how it used to be.

Something happened to it. It was

a really interesting episode, though,

you鈥檙e missing out 鈥�

听

MILLER

Until you drop the act and tell me everything you know, I won鈥檛 be letting

you or your friends go anywhere.

(pause)

Do you think your mother can manage

without you for that long?

听

Miller begins pacing the room again.

听

ABBY

(scared) What do you mean?

听

MILLER

I know how much she relies on you.

Is whatever you鈥檙e hiding really worth leaving her without the help she needs?

听

ABBY

What do you want?

听

MILLER

Tell me what you know about the Doctor.

听

ABBY

What are you talking about?

听

MILLER

I know you must think you鈥檙e being

very clever, Miss McPhail. But this

stops now.

听

ABBY

No, seriously, I don鈥檛 know what

you鈥檙e talking about.

听

MILLER

Penny Carter. Oliver Morgenstern.

Rani Chandra. All of these people disappeared immediately after crossing

your path.

听

ABBY

No, that鈥檚 not鈥�

(she thinks for a moment)

oh my god鈥�(beat)鈥�

听

Music begins to play, echoing Abby鈥檚 confusion.

听

ABBY (CONT鈥橠)

Sorry, no, no that鈥檚 not us 鈥�

that鈥檚 鈥� well we don鈥檛 know but

it has something to do with this

Blue Box.

听

MILLER

It鈥檚 called a TARDIS. But the Doctor 听听 doesn鈥檛 go around kidnapping people,

Miss McPhail. The Doctor doesn鈥檛 erase people from history.

听

ABBY

We just want to go home.

听

MILLER

Your going home depends on your answer

to a very simple question, Miss McPhail. What have you done to the Doctor?

听

Music builds dramatically and then slowly fades into the next scene.

听

SCENE 7 INT.BASEMENT.

听

FX: Door opens. ABBY is ushered into the room by ROBERTS.

听

SHAWNA

Abby! Are you alright?

听

CLEO

Oh my god!

听

ABBY

Yeah, I think so. They just kept asking

me the same question over and over

about鈥�erm鈥�someone鈥� I can鈥檛 remember.

听

ROBERTS

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 (forcefully to Cleo) You, up.

听

CLEO

Yeah alright babe, I can walk myself

滨鈥檓 not a dog. 听

听

FX: CLEO and ROBERTS walk up the stairs and the door closes behind them.

听

Music quickly builds then fades into the next scene.

听

SCENE 8

听

CLEO IS SAT ALONE IN THE INTERROGATION ROOM.

听

FX: The door swings open and MILLER walks in.

听

MILLER

Cleo Proctor. You know, your friends

have already been very informative.

听

CLEO

Ha, try again mate. You know we can hear

you from downstairs, right?听

听

FX: MILLER taps his foot

听

CLEO (CONT.)

Shawna said you do that a lot. She

reckons you鈥檙e signalling someone.

听

MILLER

Tell me why you and your friends

started The Blue Box Files.

听

CLEO

Oh, you know how it is. All the

really glamorous mysteries already

had their own shows already.

听

MILLER

Perhaps you鈥檙e being paid by

someone else. Someone with influence?

Money?

CLEO

(laughing)Yeah, right, because anyone

with money wants to spend it

listening to three queer women chat

about conspiracies all day. Babe, if

we had money don鈥檛 you think we鈥檇 have better production values?

听(BEAT)

MILLER

You grew up on the Powell Estate,

didn鈥檛 you?

听

CLEO

Yeah, so?

听

MILLER

A lot of the flats there are empty.

听

CLEO

Look, if you want to talk about

滨鈥檓 your girl.

MILLER

of missing person鈥檚 reports filed

from residents of that estate.

CLEO

decades of underfunding in social

services.

MILLER

Are you aware that one of these was

filed by your mother? For a Jordan

Proctor?

CLEO

Obviously, he鈥檚 my brother.

听

MILLER

He was last seen on the Powell Estate

five days ago. Your mother still

lives there. But I notice you moved

out some time ago. And your brother

followed shortly after.

听

CLEO

Do you really think 滨鈥檓 involved

with this? You鈥檙e so far off the

mark it鈥檚 funny.

听

MILLER

Did you convince your friends to

use your podcast to investigate

these disappearances?

听

CLEO

Oh my god, does nobody even listen

to our podcast? 滨鈥檓 not even the

one who believes in all this stuff!

滨鈥檓 literally just there for the

hilarious quips.

听

MILLER

And that would be the perfect act,

wouldn鈥檛 it?

听

CLEO

Babe, we鈥檙e not sharing state secrets

are we? We鈥檙e just going off about urban

legends.

(BEAT)

Do you know what happened to him?

听

MILLER

Who?

CLEO

MILLER

CLEO

BEAT of silence as this speech hangs in the air. MILLER walks takes a few slow steps round the room as this sinks in.

MILLER

MILLER slumps down into a chair, defeated.

CLEO

Er, are you alright babe? 听

You just got like way less police

brutality and about way more

pencil-pusher.

MILLER

CLEO

滨鈥檓 not going to bite.

MILLER

It鈥檚 the Doctor.

听

CLEO

MILLER

(not really listening to Cleo)

She鈥檚 supposed to be here. She鈥檚

supposed to fix things like this.

Or stop them from ever happening.

Or ever having happened. But all the

intel we have suggests that she鈥檚 behind

it somehow. And I don鈥檛 know why.

CLEO

Wait, wait, wait. Are we talking about

the same Doctor? The one normally seen

with a Blue Box. What did Rani call it 鈥�

a TARDIS? A TARDIS! I thought she was

Mrs Collateral Damage or something.

Lord knows she鈥檚 got the body count for

it.

听

MILLER

(suddenly paying attention)

You know about the Doctor?

听

CLEO

Yes! Finally! Oh my god every time

I tell anyone about her, they just 鈥�

听

MILLER

(finishing Cleo鈥檚 sentence)

-听听 Completely forget. I was starting

to think I was going mad.

听

CLEO

You and me both. Though I hadn鈥檛 quite

stepped it up to kidnapping people.

听

Very softly, the REDACTED sound effect begins to build throughout this scene as the tension in the music rises.

听

MILLER

(scared)It鈥檚 just: if something has

happened to the Doctor, if someone鈥檚

done something to her, like brainwashed

her or something, then it鈥檚 not just a couple dozen disappearances we鈥檙e going

to have worry about. This could be the

end of the human race.

听

CLEO

Yeah, you鈥檙e back to sounding crazy

again.

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 (BEAT)

What are you smiling about anyway?

Is this an: 鈥淚鈥檝e lost it and 滨鈥檓 about

to get out the chainsaw鈥� smile or 鈥淚鈥檝e

decided Cleo鈥檚 really earned a cuppa鈥� situation?

MILLER

It鈥檚 just such a relief. You wouldn鈥檛 believe how long I鈥檝e been looking for anyone who remembers her 鈥�

The REDACTED sound effect rises like a wave, muffling Miller鈥檚 last few words.

听

CLEO

Are you ok?

听

Now all of Miller鈥檚 words are muffled and he鈥檚 slowly repeating himself.

听

MILLER

It鈥檚 just such a relief. You wouldn鈥檛 believe how long I鈥檝e been looking for anyone who remembers her 鈥�

CLEO

Wait, what鈥檚 happening to you?

听

MILLER

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Even Kate鈥檚 forgotten 鈥�

(Miller repeats forgotten and it echoes as if in a loop)

What鈥檚 happening?

The REDACTED sound gets louder then suddenly stops.

MILLER

(SCREAMING)

HELP! (STATIC) CLEO! (STATIC) HELP ME!

The REDACTED sound effect gets unbearably loud.

CLEO

I don鈥檛 know how! I don鈥檛 know what

to do!! Tell me how to help you, I don鈥檛

know!

MILLER

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 HELP ME!

CLEO

听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Oh my god help!

MILLER

(A TERRIBLE, DISTORTED SCREAM)

CLEO

HELP! SOMEBODY HELP! I don鈥檛 know

what鈥檚 happening, I don鈥檛 know his

name. Oh my god - HELP!!

FX: we hear a small, supernatural rush of air as MILLER disappears in front of CLEO鈥檚 eyes.

听

FX: Door opens and KATE STEWART enters.

KATE

Miss Proctor. I need you to calm down

or we will have to restrain you..

听

CLEO

(frantic)Who are you? What the hell

just happened to that man??

听

KATE

My name is颅颅颅 Kate Stewart. 滨鈥檓 Chief Scientific Officer at UNIT, or whatever鈥檚 left of it.

CLEO

FX: Kate sits down.

KATE

Take a deep breath and explain.

(Beat)

CLEO

The man who was just in here interrogating me! Where is he?

KATE

ROBERTS

believe that.

We hear rustling, as if from a bag.

FX: Click of a gun being unholstered and the safety being turned off.

Tense music starts as ROBERTS points a gun at the girls.

The music starts to build into a heroic tune, as CLEO realises she has the upper hand.

you don鈥檛 even know what to ask!

You鈥檙e running scared.

FX: sound of a gun cocking

ROBERTS

Give us the information we need,
