A nocturnal mix from the Deep Night Tracks event at Radio 3's After Dark Festival - an immersive overnight experience in the main hall at Sage Gateshead, hosted by Sara Mohr-Pietsch and Hannah Peel, with the audience on beanbags listening to live performances from Manchester Collective, Memotone, Me Lost Me, Xenia Pestova Bennett and Ed Bennett.

In this mix, Manchester Collective play music spanning 900 years from Hildegard of Bingen to Edmund Finnis, Newcastle-based electronic folk innovator Jayne Dent aka Me Lost Me captures the nocturnal atmosphere with original songs and reworkings of traditional ballads, pianist Xenia Pestova Bennett and composer Ed Bennett present meditative music by Egidija Medeksaite and Gayle Young, and part of a special collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Memotone and his father, the nature writer Chris Yates, who take us on a night walk through moonlit forests and nocturnal landscapes.
