Russia’s claims of troop withdrawal from Ukrainian border are ‘false’, according to the UK and US
A senior Russian diplomat and a former US ambassador to Russia speak to Today.
The Kremlin has released video which purports to show troops being withdrawn at the end of military exercises. However, the UK's head of defence intelligence says that Russia is actually building up its military capabilities in the region. The US claims the Kremlin has actually deployed 7,000 more troops to the border. Today’s Nick Robinson speaks to Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyanskiy. Also on the programme was Ambassador Michael McFaul, former US Ambassador to Russia under President Obama.
