The reality of defecting in politics

Today's Martha Kearney speaks to two people who defected from their political parties

Tory MP Christian Wakeford has defected to the Labour Party and called on Boris Johnson to quit as Prime Minister. The MP for Bury South has described the defection as "the most difficult decision of my life".

Today's Martha Kearney speaks to two people who have defected about what it's like; Baroness Nicholson, former Conservative MP who defected to the Liberal Democrats in 1995, before switching back in 2016 and Shaun Woodward, former Conservative MP who defected to the Labour Party in 1999 before going on to be the Northern Ireland Secretary.
