Coventry bin strike: council and unions on disruption, demands, and drop off sites
Bin lorry drivers in Coventry are calling for improved wages with union Unite calling the rates "poverty pay", as they take industrial action. The council disputes the claims and says drivers are paid on average 拢34,143. The union has announced further dates for industrial action which could stretch into March. Meanwhile, a scheme to ensure bins are emptied every other week has been unveiled by Coventry City Council.
CWR has spoken to the council leader, George Duggins, and the Unite union representing the bin lorry drivers.
