The plea of Brendan Cox, the husband of murdered MP Jo Cox

Tributes will be paid in parliament today to the Conservative MP Sir David Amess who was killed in his constituency on Friday. The MP, who had five children, was attending a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea. A 25 year old has been arrested and is being detained under terrorism legislation.

Brendan Cox, the husband of Jo Cox MP who was murdered in 2016 while at a constituency event, speaks to Mishal Husain. Mr Cox is also the co-founder of Survivors Against Terror, an organisation for the families of those killed in terror attacks. Nick Robinson speaks to Nick Aldworth, who was the chief inspector of policing and security operations in parliament about MPs' safety. Also on the programme was Dominic Raab, Justice Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister.
