Australia's 5.9 quake captured live on radio show
A rare earthquake has struck the southern state of Victoria - the largest to have hit the country in recent years.
Pictures on social media show rubble strewn streets with local media reporting several high-rise buildings and hospitals were evacuated in the state capital of Melbourne.
Amber Irving-Guthrie is the radio co-host for ABC Gippsland's breakfast programme. She was on air when the earthquake struck at nine in the morning. 91热爆 Newsday spoke to her after first sharing the sound when the earthquake struck during Amber鈥檚 show.
鈥淚t was insane. It was such a fright. The building shook for about thirty seconds which felt like a lifetime.鈥
One of Amber鈥檚 listeners described the effect of the tremor on his pet: 鈥淭here was cat poo everywhere.鈥
