"We are the eyes along the coast" - Ian Vinnicombe from NCI Gwennap Head talks to us about the National Coastwatch Institution
From radar to satellites, there's all sorts of fancy technology that's keeping us safe at sea.
But really, nothing beats someone actually keeping an eye on the coastline for people and vessels that might get into difficulty.
That's what our local Coastwatch volunteers do in all sorts of conditions - and on Saturday, they're being celebrated with a national day of recognition.
Ian Vinnicombe is the Station Manager for the NCI station at Gwennap Head - and our presenter Jack Murley has been to meet him.
