91热爆 Radio 5 Live's Dotun Adebayo was overcome with emotion as Team GB's Beth Shriever clinched a gold medal in the BMX final at Tokyo 2020.

Commentator Rob Hatch and former gold medal Olympian Victoria Pendleton also heaped praise on the Olympic debutante.

Shriever had to fund her own qualification campaign after UK Sport cut its support for her event following Rio 2016, and two years ago said she needed to raise a "worrying" 拢50,000 through crowdfunding.

The 22-year-old also worked part-time as a teaching assistant to cover training costs and held off two-time Olympic champion Mariana Pajon from Colombia to win.
