The man in charge for the last six years is Sundar Pichai - born in India and an engineer by training, with a love of cricket. This is the man who took over from the founders and runs Google, and its parent company Alphabet which also owns YouTube, Waze, FitBit and the artificial intelligence pioneers DeepMind.
