Five Somerset councils will be replaced by a single unitary authority
The new council will replace the four district councils - Mendip, Taunton and West Somerset, South Somerset and Sedgemoor - and Somerset County Council.
It will take over in April 2023 if the plan is approved by Parliament.
Claire Carter talks to the leader of Somerset County Council who supports the change and the leader of South Somerset District Council who wanted the five councils to be replaced by two unitary authorities.
