Football referee JJ Roble discusses how refereeing can empower women and her experiences of racism and sexism in sport.

Speaking with Sportshour presenter Caroline Barker, Roble explained her motivation behind trying to encourage more females to try refereeing: 鈥淚t鈥檚 good to lead the way and tell other girls that anything can be tried, whether you are confident or whether you鈥檙e a shy person. It鈥檚 just giving it a go and making yourself feel like you are important, and anything you try is valued.鈥�
