A Met police officer continues to be questioned on suspicion of murder and kidnap after human remains were found in the search for Sarah Everard.

Met police commissioner Dame Cressida Dick said Sarah鈥檚 disappearance was 鈥渆very family鈥檚 worst nightmare鈥� but added women being abducted from the streets was 鈥渢hankfully incredibly rare鈥�.

The circumstances of Sarah鈥檚 disappearance continue to be investigated. Her name is now a devastating reminder of why so many women feel a stab of fear at a figure or footsteps near them if they're out alone after dark.

The Today programme鈥檚 Mishal Husain discusses those long time fears of women for their safety on the streets with Julie Bindel, anti-violence campaigner, Maya Tutton, co-founder of Our Streets Now, a movement to end public sexual harassment and Jess Phillips, Labour MP and former worker at Women's Aid, a domestic abuse charity.
