No longer in his twenties, and feeling the aches and pains begin to get slightly more prevalent, Duncan looks around and sees that everyone his age seems to be obsessed with fitness. He wonders is he fit enough and, if he was fitter, whether he would be happier.
With conflicting statistics not making it easy to figure out if millennials are fit or not, and what being fit even really means, Duncan decides to get a professional ‘V02 max’ test at Hampden Sports Clinic to assess his physical fitness.
After discovering he is fitter than expected, Duncan figures there must be more to fitness than just simply ‘being fit’. He finds an old school pal who he has seen a lot less since she became a personal trainer and discovered CrossFit. Crossfit has a reputation for being almost cult-like - what is it about this club that sucks people in? Are the members happier than before? Rachel puts Duncan through the biggest workout he has had since school.
Humans often need incentives to get fit, and what bigger motivation is there than to simply stay alive? Duncan finds Iain, a bus driver from Dundee who was told that if he didn’t get fit, he would die. Iain was in his late twenties when he got the wake-up call to turn his life around. Iain shows Duncan the workout he used to get fit - will Duncan be inspired by Iain’s life-changing story and get into fitness for good?
