Somalia's lack of blood
In Somalia, continuing violence and unrest has highlighted the need for an organised system of blood donation. The only blood donation centre in the country is run by volunteers, and supply is low. Bella Sheegow speaks to the volunteers running the centre, a blood donor, and someone who spent months searching for the blood type they need. Hospital doctors say that lack of blood donations can have devastating chances on patients' survival.
