‘Deadpool’ skin condition inspires sister’s head shave

Hairdresser Olivia Stuckey is fundraising for Southmead Hospital Charity to say thank you for helping her sister Harriet.

Harriet, from Puriton, had Castleman disease, which caused an overgrowth of cells from the lymphatic system and resulted in a tumour on her pelvis.

She then developed the auto-immune disease Paraneoplastic Pemphigus, which she says ‘left her looking like something out of Deadpool.’

Harriet no longer suffers from either disease, but has been left with a lung condition called Bronchiolitis Obliterans which affects her breathing.

The sisters talk to Claire Carter about Harriet’s illness and Olivia’s decision to get Harriet to shave her head.
