The murals thanking healthcare workers in Italy
A painting of a child holding out a flower to a tired looking doctor now greets staff at Rome's Gemelli University Hospital. It was painted by street artist Alice Pasquini and it is one of 12 commissioned by Italy's Lazio region to pay tribute to its healthcare workers. Over 69,000 people have died of Covid-19 in Italy.
"I wanted to represent a hug," says Alice Pasquini, "but we can't represent hugs any more... (so) I wanted to represent how we can be connected in the same way."
