Ethiopia鈥檚 Tigray crisis: Why I鈥檓 proud to be Tigrayan
Communications with Ethiopia's northern Tigray province have been cut and access restricted since the Ethiopian government launched a military offensive there on 4 November against the TPLF. The ongoing block means many haven't been able to reach friends or family since the fighting began. Journalist Hana Zeratsyon is from Mikelle, the region's capital, but works in Kenya. She describes growing up in the Tigray region, the strength of Tigrayans' cultural bonds and their initial support for Abiy Ahmed when he first came to power.
