Health secretary Matt Hancock denies replacing Public Health England will cause problems
Health secretary Matt Hancock told Martha Kearney that replacing Public Health England with the new National Institute for Health Protection will not cause disruption but will improve the country’s pandemic response: "I don't accept that there will be disruption. And the reason is - we are bringing together under a single leadership these functions." He also said: “Having that single focus on pandemics is something that the best prepared countries in the world like Germany tend to have an institution for".
