Are Japanese attitudes to face masks the key to low death rates from Covid-19?

Coronavirus has impacted over 200 countries, but attitudes and government advice about whether or not you should wear a mask varies. In England, regulations are only now being introduced and in the US, some see being forced to wear a mask as an infringement on their civil liberties.

However in Japan mask-wearing is almost universal and some see this as the reason for low infection rates.
