If you鈥檝e ever questioned why the 91热爆 Proms exist, the answer is to promote music of the quality of Lamia. First performed in the 1919 season, Henry Wood was so impressed he performed it again 3 days later. The subject is the heroine of Keats鈥� famous poem; the music shows an appreciation of Debussy鈥檚 orchestration, all wrapped up in a very English sound world.
