Council education boss defends decision to keep schools shut
The decision that schools in Bury will not reopen on 1 June has been defended by the borough's education boss.
Speaking to 91热爆 Radio 5 Live, Labour Councillor Tamoor Tariq said 鈥渁 lot of parents鈥 had said they would not be sending children back to school so reopening schools was not 鈥渟ensible, reasonable or pragmatic鈥.
However, 5 Live listener Clare contacted the Emma Barnett show and said the deadline for a feedback form she had been given by her child鈥檚 school had not yet expired, 鈥渟o how can the council have a full picture?鈥
