UK not losing the battle to do enough coronavirus tests

Health Minister Helen Whately says there is now capacity to do 10,000 tests each day.

It is just a week since the Prime Minister spoke to more than 27 million people watching on television and told us to stay at home. We were told that the shutdown of large parts of our economy, society and our daily lives would be reviewed in three weeks time. But that three week review could be followed by more restrictions, some lasting perhaps for six months.

Some argue the only way to speed up the time we can reach the moment life begins to feel more normal is through testing. But tests, like ventilators and protective masks and aprons are in short supply.
