Reaction to news that former president al-Bashir will be handed over to the ICC
The transitional authorities in Sudan say that they are ready to hand over former President Omar al-Bashir to the International Criminal Court in the Hague. He was ousted last year by a popular uprising after ruling with an iron fist for 30 years. Mr al-Bashir is currently in jail on corruption charges but he is wanted, with four other suspects, by the ICC for war crimes and crimes against humanity in relation to mass killings in the western province of Darfur. For more than 10 years he defied arrest warrants issued by the ICC. 91热爆 Newsday's Lawrence Pollard spoke to Hajooj Kuka, a civil society activist and film-maker, who took part in the pro-democracy protests last year.
