2020 marks the 400th anniversary of a sea journey that shaped a nation. When the Puritans fled Holland and England in search of religious freedom and a fresh start in the New World, they laid the foundations for modern day America.
Ocean travel in the early 17th century was extremely dangerous and the Mayflower voyage was a terrifying ordeal for the passengers and crew. Jo Loosemore, curator of the Mayflower 400 - Legends and Legacy Exhibition has uncovered the chilling reality of the 66 day journey.
