'My child tells me he wants to die'
One in five referrals to the the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are turned down, many without a face to face assessment.
Last June, the Scottish Government announced it was investing 拢5m in a task force to improve the system. But since then, the Scottish Association for Mental Health says a further 7,500 children and young people have had their referrals rejected, and urgent action is required.
The Nine's Louise Cowie has spoken to the mother of an eight year old boy who has been denied specialist treatment despite repeatedly telling his family that he wants to die.
