What does it take to play rugby league whilst battling sickle cell disease?
Ade Adebisi suffers from a genetic blood disorder that affects over 300,000 people in Africa. He is the only known rugby player to ever play professionally with the condition.
After a tough yet promising career in rugby league, Ade Adebisi is now an ambassador for the sickle cell society and is the founder of the Ade Adebisi sickle cell foundation. The former Nigerian winger is also the Vice President of his countries governing body for rugby.
