The oldest travel company in the world has ceased operating

Thomas Cook has collapsed after last-minute negotiations aimed at saving the 178-year-old holiday firm failed. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps comments on the government's refusal to provide the 拢250 million bailout requested to save the company.
