Sir Geoffrey Boycott knighted
The former England cricketer has been knighted in Theresa May's resignation honours list
Sir Geoffrey Boycott has been knighted in Theresa May's resignation honours list for services to sport. He spoke to Today about the former prime minister's passion for cricket and his career as a player and commentator. He also responded to criticism from domestic abuse charities, who said he shouldn't be honoured as he was convicted of beating his girlfriend in France in 1998. He has always denied the assault.
