A new case of Ebola is confirmed in Uganda
A new case of Ebola has been discovered in Uganda, on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A nine-year-old girl is believed to have been brought to the town of Kasese from the DRC in an effort to obtain medical treatment, with medical tests at a border screening post confirming that she was carrying the infection.
Ainebyoona Emmanuel - the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Uganda - told Newsday that they are: "working to see how the nine-year-old and her mother can be repatriated back to the DRC, where there is treatment that has been proven effective."
