Sudan forms army-civilian council to lead country
'A good step in the right direction'
The sovereign council that will oversee Sudan's transition to democracy is due to take office in the next few hours.
Generals and protest leaders agreed on its final composition late on Tuesday, four months after Sudan's longtime ruler, President Omar al-Bashir, was forced from power.
Newsday spoke to Hafiz Mohammed, a Sudanese opposition activist who is Sudan coordinator for the human rights organisation, Justice Africa.
