Perspectives on D-Day
When the story of the Normandy landings is recounted, the role French forces and the resistance played both on D-Day itself and in the two months of battle that followed gets comparatively little attention.
The same can be said for members of the vanquished German forces.
Our Europe Correspondent, Jean Mackenzie, went to speak to three people and heard their personal perspectives of the summer of 1944.
