Tiananmen Square: 30 years on

Protests in Beijing's Tiananmen Square were crushed by China's Communist rulers.

On 4th June 1989 Yang Jianli witnessed the killing of students and a conscripted soldier attacked by the protesters in Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Dr Yang - the son of a senior Communist Party official - has been imprisoned for his dissident views and now lives in exile in the US where he campaigns for human rights in China.
