Hull's Headscarf Revolutionary Yvonne Blenkinsop returns to Westminster
One of the last surviving Hull women who won a campaign to change safety laws for fishermen will be returning to Westminster for the first time since she was last there 51 years ago. Yvonne Blenkinsop, along with Lillian Bilocca, Christine Jensen and Mary Denness - all known as the Headscarf Revolutionaries - pushed the Government for safety improvements for those working at sea. They succeeded with their efforts following the triple trawler disaster in 1968. Yvonne Blenkinsop can be heard here speaking to 91热爆 Political Reporter Sarah Sanderson about that meeting with the Government and their fight which changed the fishing industry in the 1960's.
