Armed police sent to everyday incidents
New figures obtained by The Nine show that, in Scotland, armed units are being been sent to deal with routine call-outs every single day.
Firearms officers were banned from attending all but the most serious incidents until May 2018, but since that rule was relaxed, they've been dispatched to 5,250 routine calls.
They've been sent to incidents like road crashes and searches for missing people.
Police chiefs say it's a sensible use of resources and keeps the public safe. But critics argue lives could be put at risk.
