Preventing suicide
A father who lost his 18-year-old son co-founded the Zero Suicide Alliance
A group of organisations within the NHS meet today for the first conference of the Zero Suicide Alliance. The idea came from the United States where a programme in Detroit screening every patient for their suicide risk helped reduce the number of people taking their own life. Steve Mallen co-founded the initiative after losing his 18 year old son Edward in 2015.
