We follow the adventures of farmer Jim MacDonald, his farmhand Donnie and his temperamental mother - as they struggle against the elements - and each other - on a farm in Perthshire, Scotland.
Jim is a proud man; often wounded but never beaten, who cares deeply about what he does. Mother is extremely hard to please and doesn鈥檛 mind delivering home truths. Donnie provides an optimism somewhere beyond na茂ve, towards completely deluded.
