North Ayrshire has become the first area in Scotland to hire full time counsellors at every high school to try to deal with child suicides. It follows a spike in the number of young people taking their own lives in that area.

The Scottish Government has plans to roll out the model adopted by North Ayrshire right across the country. It comes at a time when social media giants are under pressure to control some of the harmful content available online.
