Teenager's 'lucky' rescue from waist-deep mud in fading daylight
A teenage girl had to be rescued after getting stuck almost waist-deep in mud as the light-faded off the Dorset coast yesterday.
The 15-year-old girl had been walking a dog in Wyke Regis, in Weymouth, with her dad when she got into difficulty. It's our understanding that the dad tried to help initially, but then realised further assistance would be needed and called 999.
Our reporter, Laurence Herdman, spoke to the deputy station officer at Wyke Regis Coastguard Rescue Team, Anthony Goss.
