It's 150 years since Weymouth RNLI was founded. 'Agnes Harriet' was the first lifeboat to operate from the station in 1869. Since then, over 1700 launches have taken place from one of the busiest lifeboat stations on the south coast and more than 800 lives have been saved at sea. Four years ago, Weymouth businessman Terry Sallows was rescued when his paddleboard was blown out to sea by a freak gust of wind near Lulworth. Looking back he described the incident as 'slightly embarrassing' and heeded a friendly warning to always avoid complacency.
